One of the greatest things about living in this day and age is all of the cool tech stuff that comes out just about every day. And today, iPod creator Tony Fadell’s company Nest announced one of those products that seems way overdue – The Nest Protect; a $129 smoke and carbon monoxide detector straight from the living room of The Jetsons.
The sleek and stylish Protect not only sounds an alarm when there’s danger, it also speaks to you in a voice from a digital woman who could very well be Siri’s sister. And to silence the alarm you can leave the ladder in the garage and simply wave at it to stop the noise. The device launches next month along with an iPhone app which can control the Protect and receive alerts. Time to pull out that Christmas wish list.
